Kissaki, a New York-based sushi restaurant is opening a new location in Miami Beach, with ingredients from its own fishery in Japan

Kissaki, a distinguished sushi restaurant originally from New York, is set to open its doors in Miami Beach. The restaurant, situated at 500 South Pointe Drive Suite 160, is scheduled to launch on January 3. At the helm is Executive Chef Edgar Valerio, who honed his skills at New York City's Michelin-starred Jewel Bako, specializing in omakase, a chef-curated dining experience.

The concept of omakase, a Japanese term meaning "I leave it up to you," is central to Kissaki's culinary approach. The restaurant will feature 10- and 15-course omakase menus, showcasing a range of fresh selections like uni and caviar, sourced directly from Kissaki's own fishery in Japan. Chef Valerio emphasizes that Kissaki aims to blend tradition with modern flair, ensuring a memorable dining experience.

Spanning 3,000 square feet, the Miami Beach venue boasts a bar area and intimate dark drinking dens, offering a selection of cocktails, wines, beers, sakes, and Japanese whiskeys.

The restaurant's design, crafted by Brooklyn's Lauren Jayne Design, reflects the upscale ambiance of the South of Fifth neighborhood where it's located.

Kissaki's founder, New York restaurateur Garry Kanfer, first introduced the brand in Manhattan's Lower East Side in January 2020. Following its success, Kissaki expanded to Manhattan's Upper West Side, The Hamptons, and Greenwich, Connecticut.

The Miami Beach establishment marks the brand's first venture outside the New York tri-state area, with Kanfer expressing excitement about integrating Kissaki into Miami Beach's diverse culinary scene.
