One of the hotel's most well-known features is the Top of the Pier, a rotating rooftop lounge that became a favorite spot for both celebrities and locals. The lounge offered breathtaking views of the city and the ocean.

Pier Sixty-Six, as seen in TV shows like "Scarface," "Miami Vice," and "The Love Boat."

has been undergoing an extensive renovation since 2021, but is set to be completed in 2024. Led by Tavistock Development Company, the project aims to transform the site into a world-class destination. The renovation includes the construction of a new 17-story hotel tower with 300 guest rooms and suites, a marina with 500 boat slips, and a state-of-the-art pool complex featuring three pools, a lazy river, and a water slide.

Additionally, there will be a rooftop restaurant and bar offering breathtaking city and ocean views, a new spa and fitness center with top-notch amenities, and redesigned luxurious lobby and public spaces.

The entire undertaking, costing over $300 million, is one of Fort Lauderdale's largest construction projects, creating numerous jobs and promising a substantial economic impact on the city.

The revamped Pier Sixty-Six is set to set a new standard for luxury, attracting visitors worldwide and revitalizing the waterfront. Notably, the new facilities will be situated on the sites of the old Top of the Pier lounge, Pier South marina, and the previous pool complex, all of which were demolished to make way for the enhancements.
