Seven-time James Beard nominee Chef Clay Conley to unite Buccan, Imoto, and Buccan Sandwich Shop at new Buccan Coral Gables on Miracle Mile

Chef Clay Conley, renowned for his innovative culinary approach, is set to expand his gastronomic influence with a new branch of his celebrated Buccan bistro in Coral Gables, Miami-Dade County. Scheduled to open post-April 2025, this venture marks a significant addition to the vibrant Miracle Mile, enriching the area with Conley’s distinct culinary style.

The expansion will feature a substantial 9,600 square-foot space combining three of Conley's successful Palm Beach concepts: Buccan, Imoto, and Buccan Sandwich Shop. Each will mirror its original offerings, ensuring that the signature dishes that won Palm Beach diners over will be available to a new audience. The initiative promises to be a mega-restaurant designed to cater to the diverse tastes of the Miami area's sophisticated palates.

Since its inception in 2011, Buccan has been a hotspot in Palm Beach under Conley’s leadership, contributing vibrantly to the local dining scene traditionally dominated by more formal dining establishments. Conley’s unique small-plates approach, which earned him multiple James Beard Award nominations, emphasizes his culinary creativity and commitment to quality.

Conley, a former head chef at Miami's once-popular Azul, brings more than just recipes back to Miami — he brings a legacy of enriching every community his restaurants touch. The new venue, located in the under-construction building at 100 Miracle Mile, will also host retail and office spaces, making it a cornerstone of community and gastronomy.

The design of Buccan Coral Gables, orchestrated by renowned restaurant designer Peter Niemitz, will include separate entrances for each concept, maintaining their distinct identities while contributing to the cohesive experience of the venue.

As Coral Gables anticipates the opening of this culinary haven, local diners can look forward to a menu that features both new creations and beloved classics from Conley's repertoire. Whether new to Conley's work or a long-time fan, guests are encouraged to indulge in the dynamic flavors that have defined his career.
